Premium Vodka goes Global

Bloody Pristine cocktail history is as blurred as the tomato juice it’s made of, but most people agree on one story which bears at least an ounce of truth.

A bit less than 100 years ago one bartender known as “Pete” (Fernand Petiot) created a vodka-tomato mix under the roof of the New York Bar in Paris. There is no doubt that Ernest Hemingway took the opportunity to try this new cocktail at his frequented hangout-place in the capital city.

Then of course word of Pete’s recipe travelled to New York City and all around the globe. In the United States Fernand Petiot further developed his recipe with certain additional spices and with lemon/lime juice. He officially claimed his invention in the New Yorker magazine giving the full list of ingredients he used and the procedure he followed.

Now that we know the history behind it, it is your turn to give it a try.

The seasoning included in this recipe was chosen by a bartender, who likes people to feel the spicy kick of the ‘Bloody X Cocktail’ and to help people enjoy the smooth combination of Pristine Premium Vodka and juice at the same time.

Ingredients

  • Sea-salt
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 2 oz of Pristine Premium Vodka
  • 5 oz of smooth tomato juice
  • 4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 dashes of Tabasco sauce
  • 2 tsp of Prepared horseradish
  • Celery salt, 1 pinch
  • Ground black pepper, 1 pinch
  • Smoked paprika, 1 pinch

You can use a high ball glass for this red cocktail.

And for decoration you can use:

  • Lemon slice
  • Lime slice
  • Pickled cucumber
  • Sword pick of sweet pepper slices
  • Some curds

Put a bit of sea-salt onto a small plate.

Next, scrape the juicy side of a lime or lemon wedge against the edge of a high ball glass than roll the outer lip of the glass in sea-salt until fully coated.

Put some ice into the glass and leave aside to chill properly.

Squeeze the rest of the lime and lemon juice into a shaker and drop the wedges in.

Add Pristine Premium Vodka

Put all the remaining ingredients and into a glass then top with ice.

Get another glass of the same size and shape and pour the mix back and forth between the two glasses.

Savor with a lemon slice, lime slice, a pickled cucumber and a sword pick of sweet pepper slices and curds.

Extra tip for spice lovers: to get an additional hit just mix a bit of lemon juice with Old Bay seasoning and dip the top of the glass into this mix just before you pour the drink in.

The good thing is that whatever time it is while you are reading this article you can go and get the Pristine Premium Vodka and some tomato juice and start your magic. But always remember to drink responsibly.
