All the Rage- Premium Vodka Infusions
Infused liquors have recently become hot new ingredients for cocktails. Some people may buy infusions from the store because of the convenience, but they are sacrificing their palette. You get a far more robust flavor when making it fresh. An infused beverage you carefully craft on your own using just the right amount of fresh-picked or frozen blueberries splashed with the perfect amount of refreshingly-clear Pristine vodka, will present to your taste buds a far more exquisite flavor. It’s both easy to prepare and easy to store, though it does take some time and planning to get it right.
It’s Your Turn!
The alchemy of the perfect infused liquor recipe comes from pure, smooth Pristine vodka and thawed organic blueberries. There are plenty of organic blueberry farms, so when they are in season at a farm near you, pick or buy plenty extra so you can freeze them to await a time when you can enjoy a day of making your own delectable infused liquor as outlined below.
Ingredients:
16 ounces of thawed blueberries
1 1/2 cups of Pristine Premium vodka
1/2 peel of lemon, sliced and finely grated
3/4 cups of sugar syrup* (see instructions below to make this)
3 whole cloves
*To Make Simple (sugar) syrup:
Use one part water to two parts sugar (1/3c water to 2/3c sugar will produce about 3/4c mixed for the recipe above).
Boil water in a saucepan then add sugar and stir.
Make sure that all the sugar melts completely.
Turn off the heat and let it cool.
If you made extra you can store it in a clean jar in the refrigerator for up to one month and use if for a variety of recipes.
Directions:
First be sure to thaw the frozen blueberries completely.
Mash them well to release the flavorful juice of the berries.
Let the mashed blueberries sit for a few moments.
Pour the Pristine Premium vodka in a one-liter jar.
Add the finely grated lemon and the three whole cloves. (If you plan to use the drink for different purposes [for example, dessert topping], you can omit the lemon and cloves.)
Last, add the mashed blueberries and their juice.
Let the mixture sit in a cool dark place for 3 months.
To prevent settling shake the jar gently every two to three days.
In one month, open the jar and carefully strain the liquid from the berries into a new, clean jar with a tight-sealing lid.
Add the simple syrup, cover the jar tightly and shake well.
Now let your liquor age in the refrigerator for at least one month.
When you are ready to bottle it, filter the liquid one more time into a clean bottle (or jar) using cheesecloth.
Voila!
Now you have your own delightful Premium Pristine blueberry liquor that you can share with friends or give as a Christmas gift.
There is nothing better on a cold winter night – than warming by the fireplace and enjoying a sip of your aromatic summers’ bounty of blueberries!
You made extra? Good for you! The longer the liqueur sits the sweeter it gets!
