Cool, fashionable, and occasionally daring, the martini has been emulated, copied, and enjoyed by everyone, from the most humdrum day-to-day folks, to Secret Agent James Bond. And yet, a quick google search reveals that there is practically unlimited variety when it comes to how a martini is made.
Just as every person is unique, so is every martini. Whether it’s shaken vs. stirred, simple and clean, or dirty enough to call your mother names, the Martini is as varied as it is classic. Start with Pristine Premium Vodka, and take your martini anywhere!
The Classic Martini
A simple combination of premium vodka and dry vermouth, here’s the one that started it all.
Ingredients:
- 4 ounces of Pristine premium Vodka
- Dry Vermouth
Pour some Dry Vermouth (just enough to coat the inside of the glass) into a chilled martini glass and swirl. Dispose of the excess Dry Vermouth. In a shaker with ice, gently shake the vodka before straining into a glass.
Garnish with an olive or lemon twist and add ice to your liking.
The Dirty Martini
A tantalizing addition of olives and brine, for a mouth you wouldn’t kiss your mother with.
Ingredients:
- 4 ounces of Pristine premium vodka
- 1 ounce olive brine
- 3 green olives (stuffed or unstuffed)
- 1 dash dry vermouth
Combine Pristine, brine, and dry vermouth into a shaker with ice. Shake until cool. Next, place the olives at the bottom of a martini glass. Strain vodka, brine, and vermouth mixture into the martini glass.
Bond’s Favorite Martini
If you’re feeling a bit like a secret agent, try James Bond‘s favorite recipe.
Ingredients:
- 3 ounces of Gin
- 1 ounce Pristine premium Vodka
- 1/2 ounce Kina Lillet (or any dry vermouth)
- Lemon peel (for garnish)
Start by placing the lemon peel at the bottom of a champagne goblet (Bond’s vessel of choice). Next, in a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, Pristine, and Kina Lillet. Shake well and pour into goblet. Enjoy while secretly protecting her Majesty’s interests abroad.
Thy Sky is the Limit
In the watering hole’s of today’s world, a martini is often defined more by it’s glass than it’s ingredients. You can choose any amount of additions, flavors, and garnishes to suit your individual taste. The sky is truly the limit. With Pristine’s premium vodka taste, whatever you make is sure to be a smash!
